1. Medical Emergencies

Do not use this application for medical emergencies. If you have a medical emergency, call your doctor, 911, or your local emergency services immediately.

Signs of infection (fever, spreading redness, pus), severe allergic reactions (swelling of face/throat, difficulty breathing), or sudden changes in moles should be treated as urgent matters requiring immediate in-person medical attention.

2. Intended Use & Scope

Dermitri is a software tool designed exclusively for informational, educational, and cosmetic purposes.

What We Do

  • Analyze surface texture & hydration.
  • Track cosmetic changes over time.
  • Suggest over-the-counter beauty products.
  • Provide educational content on skin types.

What We DO NOT Do

  • Diagnose diseases (e.g., Eczema, Psoriasis).
  • Screen for Skin Cancer or Melanoma.
  • Prescribe medication.
  • Replace a dermatologist's visit.

The Service has not been cleared or approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) or any other regulatory authority as a medical device.

3. Cancer & Lesion Warning

Critical Notice Regarding Moles & Lesions

Dermitri cannot detect skin cancer. AI models used for cosmetic analysis are not trained to identify malignant features such as asymmetry, irregular borders, or color variation indicative of melanoma.

Reliance on this app to "check a mole" could lead to delayed diagnosis and treatment of serious conditions. You should perform regular self-exams and see a dermatologist annually, or immediately if you notice:

  • A mole that changes in size, shape, or color.
  • A new growth on your skin.
  • A sore that does not heal.

4. No Professional Relationship

Use of Dermitri does not create a physician-patient relationship between you and Dermitri Labs Inc., its employees, or its partners. Even if you use features labeled "Dermitri Clinic" to share data with your own provider, our platform acts solely as an intermediary conduit for data, not as a provider of medical care itself.

5. Accuracy & AI Limitations

Our analysis is based on probabilistic Machine Learning models. While we strive for accuracy, results can be heavily influenced by external factors unrelated to your actual skin health.

A
Lighting Bias:

Warm indoor lighting can falsely increase redness scores. Shadows can be misinterpreted as hyperpigmentation.

B
Device Variability:

Different smartphone cameras apply different post-processing (smoothing, sharpening) which can hide or exaggerate texture issues.

C
Demographic Bias:

While we train on diverse datasets, AI models generally may vary in performance across different skin tones (Fitzpatrick types). We are continuously working to reduce this bias.

6. Product Safety & Allergies

Product recommendations are generated based on ingredient compatibility with your skin analysis profile. However, we cannot know your complete medical history or allergy profile.

Always perform a patch test on a small area of skin (like the inner arm) 24 hours before applying any new product to your face. Read all product labels and ingredient lists carefully.

7. Assumption of Risk

By using the Service, you acknowledge and agree that you are solely responsible for your health and skincare decisions. You assume full responsibility for any risks, injuries, or damages, known or unknown, which might occur as a result of using the information or products recommended by Dermitri.
